Jim Henry for Congress in FL 28
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 1, 2025 James Henry Condemns President Trump’s Disgraceful Behavior Toward Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, Calls Out Vice President JD Vance’s Hypocrisy MIAMI, FL – James Henry, Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida’s 28th district, strongly condemns President Donald Trump's recent “unpresidential and disgraceful behavior” toward Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their recent White House meeting. Henry also criticizes Vice President JD Vance for his hypocritical stance, demanding gratitude from President Zelenskyy despite previously opposing critical U.S. aid to Ukraine. "President Trump's conduct during his meeting with President Zelenskyy was nothing short of appalling," said Henry. "Accusing Ukraine of 'gambling with World War Three' and abruptly ending discussions on a vital minerals deal undermines our nation's commitment to supporting democracies under siege. This behavior not only disrespects a key ally but also emboldens aggressors like Vladimir Putin." Henry also addressed Vice President Vance's remarks questioning President Zelenskyy's gratitude toward U.S. support. "It's the height of hypocrisy for Vice President Vance to demand thanks from President Zelenskyy when he has consistently opposed essential aid to Ukraine," Henry stated. "In April 2024, Vance voted against a $60 billion aid package intended to bolster Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression." "President Zelenskyy has repeatedly expressed his gratitude for American support," Henry continued. "For Vice President Vance to suggest otherwise, while actively working to deny Ukraine the resources it needs to defend itself, is both misleading and disingenuous." Henry reaffirmed his commitment to standing with Ukraine and strengthening U.S. alliances, emphasizing that his campaign is dedicated to defending democracy both domestically and internationally. "As your next congressman, I will advocate for policies that reinforce our alliances, support democratic values, and stand resolutely against authoritarianism," Henry concluded. "America must lead with integrity, not with the erratic behavior displayed by President Trump and the duplicity of Vice President Vance." ###
